The High Resolves Sydney Summit 2010 was held at the University of NSW with the theme of Collective Identity and Collective Action. During the day, students heard inspiring talks on this theme and participated in group activities around the Millennium Development Goals.

To illustrate the impact of collective identity and collective action, they also participated in a flashmob on the central lawn of the university. The flashmob was performed to the tune of the Queen hit “We Will Rock You” and started off with a two bar trumpet blast from the internationally renowned musician, James Morrison, much to the surprise of the University students having their lunch in the area.

However, the clear highlight of the day was the entertaining talk by James Morrison, who shared personal stories of how his choices at certain moments affected the whole course of his life. He emphasised how it doesn’t necessarily matter what happens in your life, it’s how you see it which is the most important thing. The students were then treated to a dazzling performance showcasing his incredible talent, ending with a standing ovation.
