melbourne summit 2009
The inaugural High Resolves Melbourne Summit was held on November 23, 2009, at the University of Melbourne. Following an inspiring keynote session with Evan Thornley, CEO of Better Place (a company that is developing the electric car), and a thought provoking talk by Mehrdad Baghai (Managing Director, Alchemy Growth Partners and Co-Founder, High Resolves) on collective action, students broke off into streamed discussion groups on multiple themes such as the future of cities, the future of work or the future of education.
After lunch, the students interacted with leaders in the various fields they had chosen, followed by another plenary session where students heard about the new action projects that some schools will be taking part in in 2010. The Summit closed with an inspiring presentation from Steve Langton (Global Managing Partner for Leadership Consulting, Heidrick & Struggles) where students were encouraged to think about their future and to initiate their own path of service and leadership.
