In 2007, the High Resolves Initiative held its inaugural Summit at the University of Sydney. Nobel Prize winner Thomas Schelling was the keynote speaker who spoke about nuclear proliferation and disarmament. Also present were distinguished panelists such as Nick Rowley, former advisor to Tony Blair for the Environment and founder of the Stern Report.

The sessions were organised around four main topics: human rights and development; democracy and diversity; health and education; and energy and the environment. Executives with track records of service in four fields, worked with the students as they held group discussions in the various streams.

At the end of the day, students heard from Dorjee Sun, CEO of Carbon Conservation. Dorjee spoke about the power of initiative and how, with a mobile phone and an internet connection he had made significant impact upon a serious environmental issue that he was passionate about. Finally, Keith Berwick, four-time Emmy winner and Executive Director of the Henry Crown Fellowship, spoke about the key skills and challenges of leaders.
