Project Based Learning: Developing Leadership Skills through Social Action Projects
Are you looking for self-guided experiences for your students that develop their skills in leadership, creativity and problem solving?
This professional development workshop for teachers will provide you with the knowledge, skills and practical resources to facilitate student-led social action projects. We have facilitated hundreds of student-led projects and will share our model to help develop students into the leaders of tomorrow.
All participants will be provided a set of high quality, practical teaching resources for use in the classroom.
The following Australian Professional Standards for Teachers will be covered in the workshop:
3.2.2 Plan and implement well-structured learning and teaching programs or lesson sequences that engage students and promote learning.
4.1.2 Establish and implement inclusive and positive interactions to engage and support all students in classroom activities.
6.2.2 Participate in learning to update knowledge and practice targeted to professional needs and school and/or system priorities.
7.4.2 Participate in professional and community networks and forums to broaden knowledge and improve practice.
A certificate will be provided on workshop completion confirming five hours of professional development in the teaching standards listed above.
Lunch and morning tea will also be provided. One free place is available for any school interested in attending and any additional registrations will be charged at $290 (exclusive of GST).
