Dr Sally Varnham
Dr Sally Varnham is a Professor of Law at the University of Technology Sydney. She was previously Chair of the University Academic Board and is currently a member of the UTS Council.
Sally researches in law and policy as it relates to all sectors of education. She is widely published in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Europe and the US and regularly presents at national and international conferences. She is a co-editor of ‘Higher Education and the Law’ (Federation Press, 2015); co-author of “Law for Educators: School and University Law in Australia” (LexisNexis, 2007) and has contributed chapters to numerous national and international books.
She is particularly interested in practising citizenship in schools and student voice in decision-making in education at all levels, and has a National Senior Teaching Fellowship entitled: Creating a Framework for Student Partnership in University Decision-Making and Governance’. Sally is a past President of the Australia and New Zealand Education Law Association (ANZELA).
