If we are to have any hope of responding to the increasingly complex challenges of our world while there is still time, we will need a critical mass of today’s youth to develop the desire, the skills, the creativity and the confidence to accomplish what previous generations have failed to do: acting with solidarity in the collective interest of humanity.

The High Resolves Initiative (HRI) is a non-profit educational program that seeks to motivate high school students to view themselves as purposeful global citizens and
to acquire the skills they will need to lead their communities, and the world, to a brighter future. HRI is delivered through a creative mix of interactive simulations, role-playing exercises and small group discussions to help them to emerge as leaders working to improve their schools and to serve society.

HRI leaves an indelible mark on students. The insights released through the exercises, and the knowledge gained through the training amount to a peak experience. For some, the call to action affects immediate choices beyond high school. For others, seeds are sown, which may lie dormant for years, but which, we believe, will release their latent potential later in life.

Our world, our choice is the key message that underpins our program. Our programs create opportunities that are specifically designed to provoke teenagers to reflect on the following questions:

  1. What is my role as a global citizen?

  2. In 50-100 years will my actions and choices be on the ‘right’ side of history?

  3. How can I make a difference?
